Travel Bae and I were on a mission to see the best sites of Phuket, Thailand within 24 hours. Because…why not!?
Here’s my guide to 24 hours in Phuket.
1. Wat Chalong Temple
The second you set foot in the Wat Chalong Temple, this feeling of calm drizzles over you. Wat Chalong is a collection of Buddhist temples and every temple is absolutely breath-taking. One temple in the middle of the compound where photos are prohibited. If you head straight to the top floor you will be left speechless as you’re greeted by a giant Golden Buddha. I have never seen anything so incredibly decadent, making it an absolute must see in Phuket.
2. Big Buddha
Big Buddha is the Christ the Redemer of the East. A fairly new site in Phuket, the Giant Buddha statue can be seen from most areas in Southern Phuket. Its position offers some of the best views of Phuket. Beware of monkeys, they like pilfer shiny objects. I learn first had when one lucky monkey decided to make my water his.
3. Kata Beach
Kata Beach is a gorgeous beach on the West Coast of Phuket. Great place to people watch, nap, or see parasailers. Chill out and have lunch, with tons of restaurants located across the street. Locals have set up mini-businesses along the beach offering anything you can imagine. From beach mats to hair braiding, they have it all. Travel Bae decided he wanted to get a fake tattoo, which he slightly regretted later but, that’s a whole other story.
4. Nai Harn Beach
If Kata Beach is too touristy for you, head over to Nai Harn Beach. This beach ism locals friendly, it’s less maintained but, you can relax with no fear of beach balls or children attacks.
5. Karon View Point
Need more awesome views? Karon View Point is where I should find you. You get a perfect view of Kata Beach, Big Buddha, and the bustling tourist sector of Phuket.
Bonus: Ton Ao Yon Waterfall
We found a hidden waterfall by accident, with an assist from some locals. This waterfall a lesser know sight in Phuket, with most tourist not willing to make the trek. Definitely worth it if you are in the mood for a quick hike and cooling off in natural water pools.
